A Treat for Converts

1 min read

Just back from a splendid retreat run by the American-based Coming Home Network. They exist to help converts struggling to find their way in the Catholic Church or inquirers about the Church.  They have organised retreats in the US for many years but they have garnered so many contacts in the UK through their podcasts and their presence in the media that they decided to organise retreats for us over here.  The retreat was held at the Ladywell Franciscan Centre in Godalming, Surrey.  I recommend it to Carmelites, it is a beautiful and secluded site and very well run.  If you are based in the South East it would be an excellent place for a private retreat.  I was received into the Church a long time ago but it always does my heart good to hear people’s stories of their spiritual journeys.  The retreat leader, Ken Hensley, has a real gift for putting people at their ease and creating a trustful atmosphere. I know that many Carmelites are converts and the CHN website is well worth a visit.
