The Global Dimension

Yesterday evening I found myself talking on Zoom to a gentleman from South Africa who was inquiring about the OCDS Virtual Community. I discovered that the time in South Africa is almost the same as in the UK (unlike the time in Australasia) and we were able happily to discuss his participation in the Virtual Community. It was wonderful to be able to share experiences of life and faith with him, and it was symptomatic of this new world we live in - with such face to face contacts across the globe taken for granted. He will be the first overseas participant in the Virtual Community meetings but the Manchester OCDS group already has someone participating in its meetings from Austria via the screen. Technological advance has its downside but it enables all kinds of graces as well.
