What is a blog?

A fellow Carmelite asked me 'What is a blog?' This illustrates the gulf between those who have some familiarity with social media and those without. For me, the purpose of this blog is not just to share my brilliant (!) insights with the world, but to create a kind of internet community of mutual encouragement and inspiration where Carmelite thoughts and news are shared. Stage one in the process of developing the blog is to get it up and running, but there needs to be a stage two of involvement of others to get the sharing going, and that's where we are making no progress at present. If you are a Secular out there and if you occasionally dip into the blog, please think about contributing. If you come across particular quotes or thoughts or news items that you think could be helpful to others, why not contact me at cpblamires@aol.com and we can insert them at some point? The internet is there to be used!
