A momentous month

This is a momentous month in various ways.  On Wednesday I go to Manchester for the launch of a new Secular Group at St Joseph’s church in Irlam.  I am delighted because I find on the map that the road next to St Joseph’s is called De Trafford, and that immediately connects with my parish church in Market Harborough, Our Lady of Victories.  We have a large stained glass window behind the altar given to the church by Sir Humphrey de Trafford, who came from Manchester (I think at the start of the 20th century) to live in Harborough. Then later in the month we have the triennial President’s Conference in Leeds during which elections are held for the posts of National President and Regional Representatives.  Several Representatives are retiring this year – including myself – so we shall have new faces on the National Council (which is made up of the Regional Representatives).  Finally on the last Saturday of the month we will be holding the Central Regional Day at Northampton Cathedral Centre.  Subject to the agreement of the Presidents’ Conference, some of the Regions are going to be reorganised and it is likely that this will be the last Regional Day at Northampton.

My plans and God's Plans

The Adorable Providence
