Friends of the OCDS

There are many encouraging and inspirational sites on Facebook (along with the darker side). 'The Friends of the OCDS' is one such site and it warms the cockles of the heart to see a post today with pictures of nine new young novices in a friary in the Philippines ('Samahang men in brown'). I am simply unaccustomed to seeing any young priests or nuns in the flesh. A friend of mine who died not long ago recalled going to Lourdes in the '50s and she said it was full of young Sisters. It's not easy to understand what happened to change this, but to know that in other parts of the world there is real growth is heartwarming. Deo Gratias.
