Our Gracious Lady

OCDS Headquarters in Rome have sent out an inquiry about Seculars’ commitment to devotion to Our Lady - and there is a questionnaire to be filled in.  This morning on the Facebook ‘Friends of OCDS’ site I come across two beautiful quotations.  St Louis de Montfort said ‘Let yourself be led by the Immaculate’.  He also said: ‘She is so full of love that no one who asks for her intercession is rejected, no matter how sinful he may be.’  St Louis de Montfort (1673-1716) was not of course a Carmelite but is likely to have been influenced by St Teresa.  He helped Marie-Louise Trichet to found the Daughters of Wisdom, who have a house in Romsey.  Their chapel serves as St Joseph’s parish church in Romsey and the local OCDS group meets in St Joseph’s premises – we had a meeting there on Saturday last.  Marie-Louise would tell her Sisters – ‘Your real Superior is Mary: I am but her servant’.
