Silent harmony

I found this quote from St Teresa of Calcutta on the catholicireland website.

‘God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass – grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, see how they all move in silence.’

I think it is very beautiful, a commentary on something we absolutely take for granted.  Our preoccupation with silent contemplative prayer puts us in harmony with nature in a very special way. In plunging ourselves into the supernatural sphere of the Holy Spirit, we are at the same time forging a bond with the natural world.
