St Teresa with the Holy Family

We were discussing the ‘Offering of myself as a victim of Holocaust to God’s Merciful Love’ written by Therese of Lisieux the other day in a group and we noticed that she headed the document with the initials JMJT.  In fact JMJT appears at the head of her letters as well.  JMJT stands for ‘Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and Teresa’ and it is an indication of the reverence in which Therese held Teresa.  I was amazed to come across the same thing in the correspondence of St Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787), founder of the Redemptorist Order and longtime authority in moral theology.  Such was his love and reverence for Teresa that he also put JMJT at the head of his letters.  I find it awesome that her name should be bracketed in this way with the Holy Family.  It seems impossible to show more love and reverence for our foundress than this.  We are so blessed in her.
