The harvest is rich

Lovely meeting with a recently-formed Seculars group on Saturday - such wonderful enthusiasm and readiness to commit. When a new group is announced in a populous area, inquirers do tend to emerge from the woodwork with a sense of calling to go deeper, to plumb the riches of our faith, to respond to the beauty of the teaching of our Carmelite saints .... It's a reminder that God is always working in hearts and minds. I sometimes fall into the ridiculous trap of thinking that He has just started working when I arrive on the scene. But anyone who has set up a 'new' group in the Church quickly realises that if there is a readiness to respond out there, it's because the Spirit has been at work ...
