The Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother

More about the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother whom I wrote about yesterday in connection with Sister Clare Crockett.  On their website The Home of the Mother is stated to be an International Public Association of Faithful of the Catholic Church with pontifical approval, with three missions in the Church:

- The Defence of the Eucharist

- The Defence of the Honor of Our Mother, especially in the privilege of her Virginity

- The Conquest of the Youth for Jesus Christ.

I think the Home of the Mother is a very powerful and attractive name, it suggests both a home for Our Lady, a home for mothers in General, and a home for the members who belong to it.  So many persons lack a proper home in this world.  I am particularly delighted that the Association has twenty Protector Saints, the first four of whom are St Joseph, St Teresa of Avila, St John of the Cross, and St Peter Alcantara (who was one of Teresa’s mentors).  The list also includes St Therese of Lisieux.

Intercessions:

Agnes – various ailments

Marie – cancer

Imogen – in an arduous process of recovery

Bernard – cancer, and wife Angela

David Flood RIP – former Chairman of the St Barnabas Society

A new Manchester saint?

In our new Manchester OCDS group somebody mentioned the name of Pedro Ballester, previously unknown to me, as a potential Manchester saint.  I did some research and discovered that he was Pedro Balles
