The gifts of Providence

We gathered for the first time in St Helen’s church hall in Caerphilly on Saturday.  It was actually our third meeting as a South Wales OCDS group – the first one was online, the second in a front room.  St Helen’s has a small parish room that is perfect for us, courtesy of the wonderful Fr John Kelly.  Although I have only met him once, I have known his sister Mary for many years, and it was this that led me to approach Fr Kelly.  Mary was a marvellous friend to my late wife Trudi; they met when they were both students at St Mary’s Medical School in London.  Such is the beauty of the Divine Providence; little did I know that this friendship of many years would eventually give rise to this special gift at this moment of need.  The South Wales group is tiny and fragile at the present moment, but the groups are God’s groups, not ours, and we are entrusting the future of it to Him.
